About Us
- Jeevan Initiative is a volunteers’ association registered on 31 March 2010 in Assam under Indian Trusts Act 1882. [NITI Aayog Unique identifier: AS/2017/0158709]
- In 2005, a print magazine ‘Jeevan’ (RNI and ISSN registered) was launched in Assamese for youth and positive living. Altogether 44 print editions got published till 2016.
- We conduct research studies/ surveys, workshops and other IEC activities, besides working in the villages, filling educational gap and organizing events.
- A year-long Brahmaputra Campaign culminates into the mega riverside event SilaNoi with thousands of visitors/ participants.

Survey in Assam and Nagaland as the sole agency for primary data collection for 3 studies:
Migration Study 1.0 and 2.0
and 2.0 Part 2 (women).
The objective was to record the immediate impact of the lockdown with particular reference to
livelihoods of the migrant community. It was to help understand the potential range of impact on the
livelihood of daily wagers and the likely solutions to overcome the impact. The findings of the
study can be used as a tool for designing a strategy for addressing the challenges through any
programme/policy interventions.

Scholarships
Partner Agency: Foundation for Excellence (FFE) Trust
- Facilitating and mentoring needy students from Assam for higher education since 2010. Identifying eligible candidates through community outreach, verifying needs, assisting in scholarship application and mentoring them throughout college and beyond.
- So far around 20 students have passed MBBS, BE. BTech scholarships covering with full course fee and living expenses
